Peoria, Ill -- Members of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, Local 51, held an informational picket along University Street this afternoon, saying the company they work for isn't willing to negotiate a contract.
The IBEW, the union of television engineers has been working without a contract for the past year, according to union steward Rick Jarvis.
The union members work for Nexstar Broadcasting Group, owners of WMBD- Channel 31 and WYZZ-Channel 43.
Jarvis says the National Labor Relations Board told Nexstar to renegotiate with the the union by December 15th, but the company made no attempts until December 14th and refuses to offer any counter-proposals.
The International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers say a more than 1% pay increase and keeping jurisdiction over engineering equipment are two of the union's highest priorities.
Jarvis says the 20-member union unanimously voted down a contract offer from Nexstar this past May.
